The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean

4.0

There is so much to really enjoy in this book and I liked it more than I initially thought I would.

My problem is...I don't like the premise of Bookeaters..everything else was excellent. Eating books doesn't make sense to me. How can you absorb the words as they are mashed between teeth? It was a struggle to suspend my disbelief every time the act was performed in the book. Otherwise, this is a 5 star book.

I was surprised by how dark the tone of the book was, this made the book much more enjoyable. I can definitely see the comparisons to 'Let the right one in' which was another plus point.
The audiobook presentation is great and has a nice interview between the author and the narrator.

The Waterstones edition of the book also has an exclusive epilogue.
