Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare
3.0
The level of stress that I have from this book:

I am going to say that I am really disappointed with how this book turned out. I thought that there would be more from it. I am okay for the romance part but it wasn't until the last third of the book that we are really getting some action and the plot moving. But it wasn't even redeeming at that point as I was greatly underwhelmed by it. This is the same with Chain of Gold wherein the majority of the progress was reserved to the end of the book.
I am afraid that C.C. will never write a good-paced series like TID ever again. While I adore all the relationships that were involved here (i.e. Anna & Ariadne and Thomas & Alistair), there is one that I am not so much of a fan of. Nothing much changed with the characters. As I've said, EVERYTHING BARELY MOVED. This book is a huge 600-paged one and we got so little progress.
Another note, this book feels more like a romance novel now than a fantasy one as the plot was leaning more towards that focus, at least it is coming off that way in my opinion. I badly wanted to love this. I truly do. But I think I just expected too much from this series :(
Last, my heart ached for that ending.
