Still Star-Crossed
by Melinda Taub
Romeo and Juliet is not the most irritating of Shakespeare's plays. For my money, that one goes to All's Well That Ends Well. All is not well that ends well! Bertram sucks! Anywho, Romeo and Juliet is beautiful. Infuriating, because of how stupid everyone is, but still really beautiful. So I was kind of excited to read this continuation of literature's most famous love story. And it's really good! Rosaline is a great heroine (although she's a lot more forgiving than I would be), and Benvolio is, aside from something he does near the beginning of the book (one of the things that Rosaline forgives that I certainly wouldn't) a great hero. Even if you, like me, think that Romeo and Juliet were very stupid teenagers, you will still like this book.
