MindWar by Douglas E. Richards

I don't often write reviews for books anymore. I'm not sure if that'll change going forward or not. But I figured I'd at least explain my low rating for this one.

On top of flawed writing in the form of clunky dialogue, characters that are too perfect, pretty black and white morality, and a ton of intelligence insulting exposition dumps in the form of paragraphs of narration, I also didn't love how often muslim extremists ended up being used as plot points.
Especially after the previous book was built around that, when there's a whole different threat that this book should've been more focused on.

Honestly the book as a whole was pretty scattered. Several plot threads started that were pretty clearly meant to set up a sequel but the pacing because of them felt very awkward.

As I get further from the first book, the premise of neurotech (and subsequent psychic abilities) has a harder time propping the stories up for me. That said, there were still some...or really /a/ decent action sequence. And a handful of decent twists and turns.

But I think I'm good not reading the fourth book whenever that comes out.
