This is a beautifully written book with a haunting and haunted main character. It's deep and tender and insightful, and at the end of it I felt like all was said. I don't necessarily think the ending was of a happy variety*, but it was satisfying.
*Which maybe just exposes my bias. But in my opinion someone who truly doesn't want children wouldn't be as haunted by the question as the MC was. And I didn't really get to understand MC's partner much, but my suspicion from the snippes that were shown is that he's not particularly supportive.
