Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo

adventurous dark mysterious

3.75

much like bardugo hooked me with the magic system in ninth house, she absolutely knocked it out of the park with the depiction of hell and demons in hell bent. all of the aspects of the journey to hell were fantastically crafted and written, and it had me deeply invested in the entire process.

the pacing issues i found in ninth house weren't present here, which may be because the world and characters were established, but it felt much more rock solid on its foundation. even the stranger elements that were introduced felt fitting, even when i was sitting there going "wait, those are REAL? they exist here?"

all in all i enjoyed this - i enjoyed it more than ninth house, for sure, and i was able to fall a little more in love with the cast of characters across the board. ms. bardugo you are just really good at the writing thing and i appreciate it very much.
