Although it is a classic, it is a pretty easy read. I enjoyed it a lot. I thought it was interesting how it was written in journal entries by different people, letters, and newspaper articles. The main female character is not an especially strong character, but I think that for a book being written by a man in the 19th century, she isn't bad. It could definitely be creepy, although it didn't really affect me.
