been years since i read it so i had to reread to confirm its still my favorite…………. it is. and oddly enough such a formative work that i see its mark in all my own work too. lowkey embarrassing! but also cute, like this book moved me deeply when i barely understood it and now that i can absorb it better it moved me AGAIN. curious now about the bertha book i heard about though because she was the most compelling to me as a teen but upon rereading was sooo unelaborated upon. though i interpreted that as a result of nearly all the info we know about her coming from R…. bah maybe i need to join a book club
