Dirty Curve by Meagan Brandy
5.0
Dirty Curve is the sports romance I never knew I was missing. Tobias Cruz and his Tutor Girl had one of the sweetest, most heartbreaking, yet wonderful stories I’ve read in a long time.
Tobias is the Playboy Pitcher - he’s Avix’s star pitcher and he has a reputation with the ladies around campus. But he’s so much more than that - he’s sweet, thoughtful, intelligent, dedicated and sensitive - he just keeps most of that hidden from everyone, leaning into the persona the school paper has created for him. Baseball is his life - he’s incredibly dedicated to his craft and being the best, but his schoolwork often takes a backseat. When his grades start to slip and his place on the team is in jeopardy, he has to put his trust in a stranger who isn’t interested in his playboy ways - Tutor Girl.
Tutor Girl, aka Meyer, is the best tutor on campus and she’s in charge of getting Tobias back on track and keeping him on the pitcher’s mound. Even though she tries to get out of it, she can’t and finds herself at his beck and call trying to get Tobias’s grades up while still juggling a lot of other responsibilities. She’s closed off and reserved with Tobias, but occasionally her carefully crafted facade cracks and he can see the strong, determined and caring woman she is underneath it all.
Their love story is the epitome of a slow burn, but it is oh so worth it. Apart they’re both resilient, but together they’re strength and perseverance personified. Tobias and Meyer connect on such a deep level and will have your emotions going crazy throughout the entire wild ride.
This story really is full of the dirtiest curves I’ve read in a romance in a while - there were so many things I thought I had figured out that played out so differently than I anticipated. Once the revelations started coming out, Meagan definitely didn’t pull any punches. But, I have to say, Tobias Cruz is my new book boyfriend. The way he pulled it all out in the end was incredible and made me love him even more.
I loved Tobias and Meyer’s story so much, I never wanted it to end. Even though all good things come to an end, the ending of this book left me with a smile on my face and happy tears in my eyes.
