Imogen is a workaholic who loves being one. Her plans for Christmas are catching up with emails and getting a head start for the next year. She doesn’t have other plans because she doesn’t have a real family. Then she makes a mistake at work and gets rejected by her mother again. She needs to take a break in December and find something to do.
Dorothey offers her to spend Christmas in her holiday cottage in the countryside. Dorothey is her client, running a family business and some kind of a friend.
Once Imogen arrives in the countryside, she discovers that Dorothey kept a highe secret from her and now she has to face her past and maybe have the best Christmas ever.
I really enjoyed the book. It was too cheesy and the people and their struggles were relatable. I liked the animals and that the Christmas stuff was kind of a backdrop and link. A nice cosy read.
