I Know Who You Are by Alice Feeney
2.0

What the hell!?

Look, I loved Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney. It was gripping, had a good surprise ending, and pulled off the transition between the past and present story telling very smoothly to tie the two worlds together.

This book does some of those concepts very well in this story too. I really felt pulled into the mind of Aimee Sinclair, a great actress with a dark past of childhood abuse and trauma that she understandably wants to put behind her and acting was always an escape from her life and she got to pretend to be someone else. It was a fitting career for her world.

When her husband goes missing after a fight though, her works unravels and with the police suspecting she is involved in her husbands disappearance and the reappearance of a stalker she had in the past, she obviously has to figure things out on her own and fast before she is arrested on the suspension of her husbands disappearance.

Without giving the ending away, it’s just very disturbing when we learn the truth. I knew just before it was revealed once I thought about all the clues and felt a sinking feeling of nausea in my stomach and then of course it just got worse from there when it was confirmed who her stalker really was. I literally had to put the book down for a minute and just shake my head because the twist ending was not something easy to read.

Honestly, it seemed a bit unrealistic reflecting on it after a few months have gone by. Now, thinking of THAT ending leaves me with a few other questions about how it was possible.. I’m actually changing my review to only 2 stars from 3 because the this ending will stick with readers for a long time and NOT in a good way.
