‼️‼️SPOILER ALERT‼️

This book was everything.  I don’t know if I have read a “new adult” novel so emotionally driven as this one. After the disasterous conclusion of the first novel Binding 13 we continue the story of Shannon and Johnny in a heartbreaking way. Fighting for her life after being beaten within a inch of her life Shannon now finds herself fighting her brother who has came back, for the love she has for the boy who has been saving her and against a broken system that has been failing her for years. In the midst of healing she finds herself falling more in love with a boy that will never give up fighting for her and her life; including the little people in it. Johnny is the type of teenage boy that every girl needs and every mother hopes her son will be someday. Fighting his own uphill battle he still finds a way to protect Shannon and the mess around her. He is kind, he is strong in a way that Shannon needs, and also gentle in a way she can’t help but fall deeper into.  This book is long, but it is full of so much. Lesson after lesson, tear after tears make you root for these star-crossed lovers. You will laugh, you will giggle in 2005 nostalgic memories, and you will cry so deeply for a group of kids. It is impossible not to end this novel changed as a person. A fantastic read.
