Things My Son Needs to Know about the World
by Fredrik Backman
emotional
funny
reflective
fast-paced
Parenthood is absolutely not my thing but Fredrik Backman very much is so I gave this a go. Its a memoir told through letters from father to son, lessons on life. Letters like 'IKEA' and 'Stuff' are hilarious and only indirectly about parenting but then a chapter like 'Soccer' comes along, is directly about fatherhood but is relatable anyway and its completely beautiful because that's the only way Backman can write.
