Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas

4.0

Can you believe that this is my fourth time trying to read this book? I’m very much a mood reader, so I’ve tried picking this book up multiple times before but would put it down after 3-4 pages because it didn’t feel right.

Until 4 days ago when I was sat on the train home and decided to start reading it. It clicked, simple as that and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Aiden’s writing is fantastic and he crafted a story so rich in culture and family that it made my heart soar. Seeing Yadriel and Julian’s connection go from friendship to something more felt genuine.

However, I couldn’t give it the full 5 stars because I guessed the twist in the story and I did start feeling like it was dragging a bit around the 300 page mark. But overall, what a cracking debut!
