The Almanack of Naval Ravikant: A Guide to Wealth and Happiness by Eric Jorgenson
5.0
Pros:
- signal over noise
- immediate disclaimer in the beginning of the book that the reader shouldn’t automatically internalize all of the thoughts without critiquing them, it leads to complacency
- focuses on ETHICAL wealth creation and formalizes ideas like leverage, authenticity, accountability, ownership, etc.
- focuses in PEACE in the second half of the book, both with oneself and the world at large
- places incredible emphasis on the major fundamental skills: reading, writing, speaking, mathematics, programming
- feels like an experienced person formalizing and articulating the wisdom he has gained over the years
- timeless advice
Cons:
- some thoughts require more details and rigorous evaluation
- could’ve benefited from visual representation like graphs or charts (especially in the wealth section)
