SYNOPSIS:
  • Alice Lake, a single mom & an artist, lives in a small, British, seaside town called Wittinghouse Bay with her kids and her three dogs. One day, she discovers a man in a fugue state sitting in the beach in the rain, and he has no memories & no idea who he is. She offers him a place to stay, as she helps him uncover his memories..
  • I don’t want to give any more away so just leaving my synopsis short & sweet :)

MY THOUGHTS
  • This the FIFTH book I’ve read by Lisa Jewell, and at this point, I am a huge fan. I have read Invisible Girl, Watching You, None of This is True, & Then She Was Gone. — She truly is coming out with gem after gem.
  • The writing is beautiful, and this story has a great structure. It alternates between differing perspectives, and it goes back & forth between present day & the uncovered memories/truth.
  • This was riveting, expertly written, addictive, and hard to put down. I got through it in less than 24 hours. I was satisfied with the ending.
  • I loved the character development throughout the book. I think Jewell does an impressive job with that in all of her books.
  • Jewell weaves together a suspenseful story at the perfect pace.

TL;DR: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Does Lisa Jewell ever disappoint?! Loved it.
