Stone Cold by Andy Lane

5.0

Hmm......
Obviously,I liked it, but it still didn't feel right . Maybe it was just different, the first of a new kind of adventure, which could be interesting, especially as the previous book, knife edge, appeared to be some sort of bridge story and was, in retrospect, quite disappointing. I feel as if the story started off a little too slowly, and ended all at once, which isn't necessarily a problem, bit there just wasn't enough at stake. The Oxford setting was nice enough, and Charles Dodgson was a brilliant character, although I did miss Amyus Crowe and Rufus Stone. It felt like the purpose of this book was to get the series back on track, and I'm really glad it did, and the rushed story did not detract from this. And that is why I'm giving it five stars, even though this sounds like a rant (it's not,I just don't see the point on writing a review that's like "yeah it was good").

(also, no fault of the author's, but there are way too many typos in this book, it's like seriously, people are paid to check this!!)
