Thank you @wirter for this gifted copy!! Pike Island is out September 10th, 2024. Mark your calendars!
I grew up on the lake, which isn’t very hard when you lived in a state with almost 12,000 of them. 😄 I was so excited to read this one. I knew it was gonna be another great nostalgic thriller. Pike Island was a 5/5 ⭐️ for me! It’s official, Wirt’s writing has me on the edge of my seat the whole entire time. This book read just like a movie and is so fast paced.
Political themed books always seem to drag for me, so I was a little worried it was going to be slow. It definitely wasn’t, each chapter switched back in time from the present to the early 2000s when a group of friends were in a cabin in Minnesota.
There were a lot of twists in this one, some I saw coming, some I didn’t. Even the very last page had my stomach
dropping!
I’ve watched and read A LOT of true crime and murder shows in my life. Some parts of this just wouldn’t slide in real life, so if you are looking for a super detailed and accurate crime getaway, you won’t. 😄
Synopsis: Harry is climbing his way to the top, maybe even the very top of his political career. But when he starts getting post cards of a lake, he knows someone has been trying to dig up his past. What happens at the cabin stays at the cabin, but is it really going to stay?
Thanks again for this copy, Tony! I can’t wait to read what you’ve written next!!
