Birth and Other Surprises by Kimberly Davis Basso

4.0

This book was such a refreshing and real look at parenting. I felt like the author was in my head a lot of the time.

Birth and Other Surprises is both a memoir of the author’s childhood in the 70s and her journey raising her own children. Her points are hilarious and so relatable! One that resonated with me is that baby is really the only one who has a birth plan, that is unless you have a planned c-section, or 4 like myself

Overall, I give this 4 stars out of 5. Basso hits the nail on the head with this one, from snot and poop to letting the house get messy while spending time with your kiddos. There’s some truths in here for all parents.

Thank you to @letstalkbookspromo for hosting such a fun discussion around this book! I loved getting to discuss parenthood with other moms!
