Love After Love by Ingrid Persaud
5.0
I listened to the audiobook version which was read by the author who is an extraordinarily good orator and voice actor. The characters were alive I could picture each one from the voices she created from them. The west indies slang makes a lot of sense when vocalised so can imagine it's a challenging read.
The story itself tells about domestic violence, the stubborn strife between families, the struggles of being gay in T&T, and living the life as an immigrant in NYC. Pacing was good, I was on edge for each character and wanted to keep reading and reading to see how it unfolds. Highly recommend.
