Does It Fart?: The Definitive Field Guide to Animal Flatulence by Nick Caruso

5.0

Sure…you may have never wondered this about the animal kingdom…but doesn’t it catch your interest anyway?

Does It Fart? by Dani Rabaiotti and Nick Caruso is a fairly unique zoology text about animal flatulence. Yes, a pair of actual trained zoologists complied this invaluable tome.

The book is divided into dozens of sections…each one consisting of a page or two on an animal, whether they fart, and some interesting elements of their biology that may or may not contribute to this ability.

The book is VERY thorough, covering a large number of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, birds, insects, and other critters. It even expands its entries to include animals that are either extinct (dinosaurs and megalodon) or might not exist (unicorns) by extrapolating what we know about similar animals.

If you are a big fan of useless knowledge such as the Guinness world records, snappy answers for stupid questions, or want some bizarre facts or anecdotes to share with your animal-inclined friends, then I suggest checking out this book.

I do not recall how this even came on my radar…if I read about it or if someone suggested it…
