Die Furcht des Weisen 1
by Patrick Rothfuss
I have no idea how to rate this. On the one hand, the story had some really epic scenes in it. On the other hand, the plot was mostly a horizontal line. There wasn’t really much happening and i could not tell what exactly the climax of this whole story was. Maybe the last 30 pages. They were pretty epic. But throughout the book? I had to force myself to actually finish this. At least the second part is 10h shorter than this one.
I also wasn’t exactly happy with how women are written in this book. For one, there are barely any in it to start with. But during his uni time we get like 5 girls of which 2 speak to one another. Denna is... *sigh* i have a lot of respect for her bc she lives in a world that constantly looks down on her but i’m also kind of annoyed with Kvothes obsession with her. When the third book does come out i would like there to be more women in there tbh.
In summary this is probably a 3,5 star read but don’t pin me down on it. I might change it again.
