The Maze Runner by James Dashner
4.0
/* potential spoiler, but not really due to use of common sense and happening early enough in the book to not actually spoil it. */
I'd put this between a 3.5 and 3.75. This was an interesting book but could be slow at times. I thought the character development was good, however, so I'm hoping those slower moments are made up for other books in this series. I did find this somewhat predictable though. A bunch of drama happens and Thomas's fate must be determined and they decide to make him into a maze runner in a book titled Maze Runner?! No way! Who would have guessed? There were other moments that were also pretty easy to predict but I won't go into them.
I am interested learning more about WICKED in the next book though!
I am looking g forward to the next book though! I just hope the momentum the last 15% or so made keeps up!
Also, maybe it was just me (since I haven't read this book in a looooong time) but this reminded me more of lord of the flies more than hunger games or divergent. But, as I mentioned, I haven't read lord of the flies in probably 8 years or so.
