Speaker for the Dead
by Orson Scott Card
I feel like I was warned that this book would not be like Ender's Game. Speaker for the Dead was in sharp contract to Ender's Game. This book almost seemed to be written by a completely different person or they were written decades a part from each other. Ender's Game was adventurous, thrilling, well-planned almost chess-like. Speaker for the Dead was nearly non-stop politics and religious musings. I found it confusing at times and it seemed slow. I almost did not finish it and was eager for it to be over. Maybe the next book in the series will be a balance between the first two although I am not likely to read it anytime soon. I guess, at least in this book the adults weren't calling each other "fart-eaters".
