I listened to the audiobook whilst reading the illustrated version of the book. The Happy Prince is a story of friendship that builds on kindness and the altruism of the Happy Prince and the little swallow. It is a sad, heartwarming tale with a bittersweet ending. Also, Russell’s illustrations are incredibly beautiful.
