I am just stunned. This book was so dreamy and beautiful yet brutal and tense when it needed to be. The last 200 pages had me in such a grip i couldn’t put it down until it was finished.
At times, the author may have been a little too precious and forcibly attempting the profound in their metaphors and similes that it took me out of the story, but only briefly.
I was so invested in these characters and their world. I was comforted by them, fearful for them, and spellbound by the world in which they lived. The realism of this fantasy escape made it feel close to home.
Beautiful, lovely, wonderful book. I can’t wait for more.
