I was really looking for The Storm Runner. Ever since I had heard about RR, I knew it was going to be great. This book did let me down. That is not to say that this book was bad, though. The plot was not as smooth as it could be. The writing was a little too juvenile for my taste.
On the plus side, I did enjoy the Maya gods. Reading about other mythologies is always so fun.
This was pitched to me as a standalone, so it made sense it was over 400 pages. So, it was a little frustrating that it is not anymore. I'm on the fence about reading the next book when it comes out because of my thoughts on this book.
