Twisted Love by Ana Huang

4.0

I may have read Twisted Games in advance of this one by accident; I didn't realise they were that closely connected; my own doing! Anyway, it didn't seem to make very much of a difference because it wasn't spoiled in any manner. I did, however, listen to an audiobook of this, resulting in taking me 100x longer to finish it than if I had been reading it. And I did go weeks without listening to it on multiple occasions while finishing other novels at the same time, which definitely didn't help me maintain my interest in this book. This book incorporates quite a few of my favourite tropes - alpha hero, enemies to lovers, brother's best friend, and suspense - and the chemistry between Ava and Alex was off the charts! I also enjoyed how sweet and soft Alex, who is cold and unfeeling, was with Ava before they were formally together. I particularly appreciated how he supported her in overcoming her past trauma. I adore it when couples help each other like that in books. Even though it was not my favourite book in the series thus far, I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless.

“I wanted every shadow of his soul and every piece of his beautiful, multilayered heart. I wanted to pour into him every drop of light I had to give until he consumed me whole. Until I was his, and he was mine.”
