Vandermeer, you bastard, you've done it again. I spent most of this book arguing with myself about whether it was good - but he *really* stuck the landing. Damn you for effectively making Wick swoonworthy by the end. 

Highlights: imagery and visceral gunk, complex parenthood, absurdist tendencies. Lowpoints: iffy on womanhood, love interest feels a little too author insert, self aware dialogue (but not too bad). Ask me for more!
