I finished this book in about a hour and half. I picked it up with full intentions to read on chapter and didn't put it on til it was finished. And let me say, I don't regret it. I just got to watch two of the most adorable people in the world fall in love with each other and I loved it. They're both so sweet and adorable, and so so GAY. I love it so much, as a gay myself seeing two people embrace it is a beautiful thing.
There is no overarching deadly tension that weighs down the novel either, instead its only tension is one of the main characters accepting they're gay and coming out. It makes for a very cute and fluffy novel of pure romance and light-heartedness. It's a calming novel that I will read many many times. Nick and Charlie definitely help contribute to the calming and fluffy nature of this book since they're both innocent Lil bois. I love them so much, please get married.
Also the art in this book is chefs kiss. Ms. Oseman has such a cute art style that brings the whole book's vibe full circle and helps tell the entire story for what it is. She knows how to illustrate her characters emotions on the pages and immerse her readers. You forgot you're reading and soon enough you've read the whole thing.
To sum it all up, I can't wait til the next time I'm at Barnes and Noble because all of the next three volumes will be coming home with me. How will I hide how gay they are from my homophobic parents? No idea! But I need to read these books so I'll figure it out. If you want a sweet fluffy romance with no tension that you can totally relax with- read this. Read this if you don't anyways, you'll thank me.
