On Looking: Eleven Walks with Expert Eyes by Alexandra Horowitz

I should have read the reviews first. Others have well-explained the shortcomings of this book, primarily that the supposed premise of the book is never achieved, and that while gaining insight through walks with “experts” should be fascinating, the author mutes their voices completely in favor of her own inane and mundane ramblings.

I do hope that someone else takes up the concept and lets experts speak for themselves, in depth. It might even make a wonderful video series.
