i liked anthony horowitz’s other mysteries so i picked this up when i saw it on discount in a jb bookstore, even tho i haven’t read the first two books. but i couldn’t really enjoy this at all - both hawthorne and horowitz are annoying characters, when usually it’s the characters that keep one coming back to a mystery series. definitely won’t be checking out the rest.
