An Anthropologist on Mars
by Oliver Sacks
challenging
emotional
sad
slow-paced
This book made me profoundly uncomfortable. Not because of any of the medical conditions presented or the individuals who are Sachs's subjects...but there's something voyeristic about the way he writes about the individuals and conjectures about their inner worlds without really involving them in those discussions. Intellectually interested and certainly a window on different experiences, but a book that approaches all of these conditions as "otherness".
