The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

4.0

4 stars? 4.5? I’m torn here.

“But why does she not speak?” —Euripides, Alcestis

Honestly this book was...a wild chaotic deep dark twisted thriller that had me absolutely stunned by the ending. It almost feels like something AHS-esque, which I mean in a wholly complimentary way. This book kept me guessing, had such excellently constructed characters...the glaring exception to my life for this book was the way the psych aspects were handled. (I simply chose to suspend my belief for that and act as though this was entirely an act of fiction.)

All in all, an excellent book to end my month on. I’m very glad I picked this one up.
