She Didn't See It Coming by Shari Lapena

4.0

Thank you to PRH Audio for a complimentary audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Shari LaPena writes some of my favorite domestic suspense. This is definitely interesting with a cast of unlikable characters.

When Bryden fails to pick up her daughter from preschool and is missing, her husband, family and friends are all questioned by Detective Jayne Salter. Everyone seems to be shady and hiding something. When her body is found it soon turns into a murder investigation.

This is a twisty and very bingeable mystery/thriller. I had guesses as to who did it, but I was wrong.

The audiobook is narrated solely by January Lavoy and she is Ah-mazing. You forget, when listening, that it is only one person doing all the voices. She is so good.

The ending scene leaves the possibility of another book with the detective which would be awesome as she is a really smart and likable. I would definitely read more with this character.
