i enjoyed this book overall but it skimmed the surface of its own most prominent themes. honestly i don’t even understand why the book follows temi, when the book is clearly about ladun. i also think the book’s emphasis on plastic surgery/body modification is underdeveloped. we are told a lot about temi, but i didn’t see it shown enough for me. it was a nice read, but frustratingly surface-level at times.
