The Accidental Pinup by Danielle Jackson

2.0

This book had so much potential but ending up being crap. Cassie and Reid had 0 chemistry, Reid had no personality, the “problem/plot” was over dramatic and played out, the sex scenes were lackluster. Also Cassie would explain the discrimination she faced as a plus sized black model to Reid and his response would be “I’m sorry that happened” or some lame bs response and Cassie would be placated with that. Like are you kidding me!
It’s like the author wanted to bring up race and discrimination but didn’t want her white male character, getting too “deep” or fully understanding his privilege. So she brought it up and then quickly backed off or stuck a bandaid on it because the book is supposed to be about romance. I don’t understand how one can wire a book with an interracial couple with different body sizes and not address the issue they would face. I get it is fiction but jeez there should be some truth in the book.
Honestly I only finished it because I was too far in to quit. Would not recommend.
