A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck

5.0

When I heard Richard Peck's had died back in May, I decided that I needed to read his books over my summer vacation. I nabbed this one from my library before summer check out to ensure I had it. A Long Way From Chicago had already been borrowed. I read it in one go this morning and I just loved it. There is something about stories with grandmother's that I just love. Especially ones who are clever and ornery. I loved how you never quite knew why she was doing something until the big reveal. Just perfect. Some very funny moments and some really touching ones. The end made me cry.
