Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis
4.0

This was a solid 'retelling' that I've wanted to read for awhile. I enjoyed the sci-fi-ish world, which is not as prevalent a locale when you're looking at a retelling based off a fantasy story.

Essie was a fun Snow White, and a much tougher one than we usually encounter. I felt the story got a bit less...original? feeling once we got back to the palace and were waiting to 'take back what was hers', but there were some darker elements I didn't see coming that kept me surprised and engaged with the characters.

Random thoughts: I loved that her 7 dwarfs were the androids she'd built! That was clever. One thing that I kind of wanted answered (not that it needed to be) was did she pick her alias "Essie" because it played off of the word Princess (like Princ-essie)?

Very enjoyable book!
