Well.... they weren’t Mac and Barrons but, they weren’t supposed to be. KMM admits on her FBK page that this book will read a bit different than the rest of the fever series... so I was okay with that. I think for me the biggest difference for me was that Dani’s great adventure wasn’t fighting another villain but instead seem to be about her finding herself.
Ryodan was a bit angsty.... but then again we are seeing him through Dani’s eyes and his relationship with her is different than his relationship with Mac. I’m not sure that this is KMM’s best book, but I’m also not sure that my opinion isn’t biased because I’m so used to being in Mac’s head.
