Absolute gem!
Solid standalone, but also begs for more to come, which I think there will be. But so often I get frustrated with first books of a series when they don't actually finish a story. This one does, but leaves room and curiosity for the next chapter.

Graphic: Sexual content
Minor: Child abuse, Death, Violence, Forced institutionalization, Blood, Vomit, Injury/Injury detail
Warning! Moderate to frequent use and moderate descriptions of drowning. In this case, it's not usually lethal, but still might be triggering.
And the "forced institutionalization" is not in the common sense of the word now. It's more of a religious thing in this book. Not sure what that is called though.
Also, I'm not great at rating these warnings. I was reminded of the sexual content and its detail. There are some instances of explicit/detailed talk and actual sex scenes, but that is consensual and beautiful. Minor mentions of past less pleasant experiences and mentions of casual experiences. May not trigger me, but can understand it triggering others. Also, for mature audiences.
