This dark, enchanting look at the Nutcracker evokes the same mystery & reflection as ETA Hofman’s original tale. Darker than the ballet ever could be but no less fantastical.  A brilliant look at the world we inhabit and the ways we avoid looking at the truth. Definitely one to be read again.
