Salt by Liz Shipton is book one in the Thalassic series. This was an amazing start to a series! It was full of swashbuckling fun that I throughly enjoyed reading. The writing was very good, I could imagine everything that was happening as if I was there along with all the characters. I mean it’s a post apocalyptic water world!!! How cool is that!?!
I was really impressed that one of the main characters Bird Howsley suffers from an addiction. You don’t see that kind of subject matter in young adult books. Bird and Sargo are best friends in search of Bird’s brother who should be dead. The story was so interesting and page turning. I love that I was able to feel the struggles and the desperation to find the truth.
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this series. Liz Shipton is a great writer! She even has a new book releasing soon, I can’t wait to read that as well. If book one is this good, I can only imagine it gets greater as it goes. I wholeheartedly suggest you read this book!
