This wasn’t a perfect book, but it had some good points. Primarily, I liked seeing a dynamic with a beta who doesn’t want to be an alpha. I also thought tenderly brushing and braiding hair was very sweet, and the kid was not too annoying. There was a lot of info-dumping about the set up of this pack (which might not be as annoying if this is the start of a series), and I thought things moved really fast, and the human MC just accepted a lot of stuff without many questions. I also was unconvinced that a magician/warlock acting alone could have taken the pack to the brink, but w/e.
