The first half of this book was interesting and constitutes the authors life in the cult. The language is not complicated but matter of fact, straight to the point. Sometimes a little juvenile. But considering the horror of what's being told, that may be just the way to do it.
The military part was...well it serves a reflection of the systems sought by and that trap abused people. The author acknowledges the flaws of the military. Acknowledges the military is dehumanizing and racist and sexist. Acknowledges how violent military men are to the women in their ranks...yet doesn't leave. The celebrations of rank and accomplishments within the military feel futile and horribly ironic.
