All of Our Demise by C.L. Herman, Amanda Foody

3.75

Something I found fascinating the last book was how quickly the allegiances switched up but in this book having pretty set teams all throughout really allowed for the characters dynamics to marinate. And then eventually
all of the characters came together with the same goal
which I LOVE when that happens! Friendship for everyone! The character work was a lot better in this book than the last. On pretty much all fronts I think this book was better than the first actually. I think the book could have been a tad shorter. There were just so many new little obstacles all the time that it was giving the same energy as a TV show that got renewed for three more seasons even though they only really needed one more season to finish the story.
I was "pleasantly" surprised that
Briony actually died. There were a lot of instanced of plot armor (like Gavin and Alistair being fully cured even tho they were on the brink of death) that led me to believe that all of the main characters were being favored. I think I'm kind of right though because for both the authors and the readers, I can see Briony being least favorite out of the four narrators.

All in all the duology was good and I had a pretty fun time reading it but we gotta stop comparing it to Hunger Games. I get why they make the comparison but the vibes are so different and Hunger Games is in a whole different class which makes comparing any book to it kinda unfair.
