And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

5.0

This may be the first Agatha Christie novel I have read that doesn’t have one of her detectives investigating in it. It was a weird feeling of missing something, but at the same time it was refreshing and didn’t tamper with the story. In fact I found the story truly captivating. The premise of the plot made you anxious about what was going to happen from the begging to the end. In the same way, it had me guessing through the whole story about who the culprit was, and when I thought I knew I just had to read the next page to find out I was completely wrong. The atmosphere of the book was eerie, the perfect one for the story; and how light the reading was, even thought it was very action packed, made it hard to stop reading. The nursery song guiding the plot was a lovely detail that made me overthink trying to guess how the next victim’s end could meet the lyrics. In summary, it was a very entertaining novel.
