I was so frustrated by this book. I have loved Towles' other works, but founds this to be a different experience altogether. For me, it was a very slow read until the last 1/3. I struggled to sympathize with most of the characters, and the plot itself frustrated me because of the way it was generated by the actions of unlikable (for me) characters. There were a couple too many POVs for me, such that I was confused at times. There were a couple of characters, especially minor characters like Abacus and Ulyses who I really enjoyed. After enjoying the last 1/3 of the book much more, I was so mad at the ending. Overall, I'm not sure what Towles was trying to do with this one.
