The Binding Chronicles is definitely more YA based, and sometimes the inner monologues felt really repetitive, but I did like the storyline!
A character that stood out to me outside of the MC's, was Phyrra. I have this small hope that her and Marius will end up doing spy things together eventually when he is all grown up and started maturing into his elf heritage.
Luna's character kind of strikes me as naive starting out, but she is also very resilient and carries a lot of inner strength, so there is definitely some respect for her growing pains. She takes on a whole new world when she marries Sebastian, and then her existence is pretty much endangered throughout the entire series. With that being said, Sebastian was also a bit naive in not recognizing the true evil behind the creature who forced his hand to do her twisted bidding. He was very torn between thinking she was insufferably awful, or deranged, and it should never have even been a question in his mind about who was responsible for all the threats to Luna's life.
Queen Marguerite is literally a mad bat, but I honestly thought she would be more devious. I was surprised that she ended up being screwed over by someone playing a long game- but I think that it also makes sense because she's lost her humanity and is going insane, the way some old vampires are said to do, so from that perspective, its not that surprising that things slipped through her fingers in the end. All signs of her downward spiral!
I wish there would have been more details, or adventures, or moments between characters in the story overall, and less monologue. With that said though, it was still a good story. I'm ready to start troubled, and then move into the Ithenmyr chronicles!
