So yes, FM writes engaging & easily digestible stories. She keeps you turning the page, but I really wouldn’t call her a “good” writer. The writing itself is choppy, disjointed, & juvenile. But she knows how to entice you with a narrative, so that’s *something* I guess lol.
But this book honestly just pissed me off 🙃 Poor Millie has so much trauma that it impedes her ability to recognize when folks are playing her for a fool. I would go find community in folks who have been incarcerated as well & find job opportunities amongst them, not among the wealthy elite who I barely have anything in common with and where the power dynamic is wayyyy too imbalanced! Ugh.
Anyway, I’ll continue the series because I’m a completist but FM’s writing was not great😅
